The Thule Allax Medium is the most versatile size in the Allax lineup — the right fit for a wide range of mid-size breeds and one of the most common choices for active dog owners with SUVs in the mid-size category.

Like every Allax, the Medium is built around a core safety principle: a built-in crumple zone with stopping pins that break away under high-force rear impact, allowing the crate to compress in a controlled manner and absorb collision energy rather than transferring it to the back seat passengers. Fully TÜV SÜD certified. Crash tested from the front, rear, and in simulated rollover scenarios.

The adjustable depth is a feature worth paying attention to at this size. The Medium can be shortened or extended within its depth range, which makes it compatible with a wider range of cargo areas and gives you flexibility as you move between vehicles. Tension bands keep it locked to the cargo floor. The aluminum frame keeps it silent. The gas-dampened door keeps it from slamming.

The removable back panel — an emergency escape hatch — gives access to your dog from inside the vehicle if the cargo door can't be opened after an accident. It's a feature most people hope they never need and are deeply grateful for if they ever do.
